This is a diary of my journey through weight loss. I hope it encourages you as it helps me through one of the hardest challenges of my lifetime so far.

Out of IT!

That is exactly where I have been. I got knee, no, neck-deep in working and got completely off track. But I did not seem to have trouble returning to old habits in the blink of an eye. So here I am. Not giving up but getting back up and going for it. I regained 10 pounds and don't want anymore. I am down a total of 15 still so I am still ahead, but ready to get back at it. I knew it wasn't going to be easy and I am not making any excuses. But yesterday my eating was a small improvement in that I had no fast food. And today I have only eaten healthy food from home and gotten in more water. I was literally drinking less than 1 glass a day. That is PITIFUL!!!!!!!!!!! I feel it too. So I am happy to say I am happy about eating better again. My temptation is to quit all this blogging nonsense and just let the chips fall. Been there before and they fall in my mouth!!! So with the help of my family and friends and revisiting my contract, I am going to try again.

I am pooped!

Whew I have massaged up a storm this week.  And my body can tell it.  But I am so happy to be burning calories. According to Spark People each hour of massage I perform burns around 500 calories. That is awesome. So I am burning calories and I am liking what I do. Unfortunately I don't like exercising so this is good. Now I know I need some more cardio, but this is great. I am back down to 279 pounds which makes me glad and I am motivated to keep on. I am pooped but happy to be that way.

My warm heart.

Today my daughter warms my heart. You put so much into raising them and you spend a lot of time on your knees and all in hopes they will be God loving, happy, rounded, adjusted individuals in the end.  So far she is an answer to my prayers. Check out her blog and you will see what I mean.  What a reward. Thank you God. http://www.gogreeno.blogspot.com/

Today I went shopping and bought a couple of things. I am so happy to report that I was able to buy 18/20 instead of 22/24. Yahooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Little bits of progress.  It got me very motivated.

A quote I like.

Treat the Earth well. It was not given to you by your parents. It was loaned to you by your children.

- Kenyan proverb
This came from the weight loss site I use called Spark People. I liked it and wanted to share.
I am floundering on this diet/health plan. I am keeping my head above water but not making much progress. I am still in it for the long haul though. I am.

Stewardship of the Earth

Reduce, reuse, and recycle sounds great, but do we really think about (and apply) earth management into our daily lives? You might not litter, but how often do you drive your own vehicle rather than carpooling? What about buying "green" products instead of commercial items made with harmful chemicals? It is easy to disregard the dangers to the environment because there are no immediate consequences to our lives. However, think about how the earth will be in 50 years if everyone lived as you are today. Set a good example to your children of stewardship for the earth by recycling, eating fresh fruits and vegetables, and generally appreciating nature. Instead of going to Disney World, go on a camping trip. Turn off the TV and pick some flowers. This world is not ours alone. It is communally shared with all of the generations before us, and all of those to come after us.

Plodding along.

That is just what it is right now. Plodding. Not excited, not down. Just plodding. I have managed to excercise 2 times so far this week. Have also managed to write down my foods again.  My weight however is still the same. But that will come, I know if I stick to the plan.  It is snowy, there is no school and it is tempting to sit in a warm chair with my jammies on and not move all day.  Move I must though, and move I shall.  What DOES excite me and motivate me is the fact that my daughter is pregnant and I want to be in much better shape to be able to have fun and play and keep up with a grandbaby. That is going to be so much fun. I can hardly wait and that excites me and motivates me.

New Year and a New Me (new body anyway)

Well we just got back from a wonderful week in Colorado with my family. We stayed in a condo and had a late but great Christmas.  It snowed, we had a fire place, hot chocolate. It was perfect. I love spending time with my family so much.  I did ok with the diet plan.  Didn't write things down and didn't say no to everything, but didn't over do either.  I am within 2 pounds of my lowest so far. I am behind schedule but I am back on track. My NYR is to get to the gym 3 times a week.  No excuses. I will have to adjust my goals times a bit but that is ok.  Happy New Year everyone!
